My Brother Vincent
Deep within my soul, I think of you when…
the radiant sun rises and my sleeping spirit wakes
watercolors paint the sky
eagles soar, hawks circle, bluebirds sing and fly
spring flowers billow with brilliance and clarity
nature’s shadows dance against the wall
howling winds nip my face, tangle in my hair
thunder rouses quiet hours, lightning’s beacon flashes
tears fall from somber clouds
rainbows arch across the sky
nimble dogs jump, weave, tunnel and climb
pillars of butterflies make displays
Deep within my soul, I think of you when…
beach sands of summer yearn for paw prints
sandpipers scurry against the tide
frisky dolphins leap and twirl, inviting us to play
ocean waves crash to shore, recede…no friend to nip their foam
leaves of color twist and whirl
a patchwork quilt upon the ground
cornstalks crackle in the wind
cotton fields sigh soft and silent
cleansing snows blanket and glisten, ghostly paw prints loom
wilderness trails pine
rivers trickle, flow, and then roar
mountain peaks whisper your name celebrating your bounty
inflating moon, night sky stirs
stars burst and scatter
bespeak the magical gifts of nature
spirits in kinship
Deep within my soul, I think of you when…
